Amaara Sangam On Working With Ajay Devgn In Rudra: 'It Was Very Encouraging To See Successful Actor Like Him Work On His Craft So Well’ - EXCLUSIVE
The beautiful Amaara Sangam, who rose to prominence with Vikram Bhatt’s thriller ‘Sanak- Ek Junoon’, is on a roll these days. She is currently basking in the success of her latest released Hotstar Specials’ Rudra - The Edge of Darkness and her song 'Maira', which is released on Salim Merchant’s label Merchant Records. In a recent interview with SpotboyE.com, Amaara spoke at length about receiving love and appreciation for her performances and also shared her experience of working with Ajay Devgn in Rudra, which marked the actor’s OTT debut.

Speaking on the success of her song, Amaara said she is very happy that her work is being applauded and that the song has managed to strike the right chord with the audience. “It feels great. I feel as an actor any kind of acknowledgment of the art makes you want to work harder and makes you push yourself even more. I am still sinking all in and trying to make the most of the love that I am getting,” Amaara mentioned.

When asked what appealed to her the most about this romantic love song, she stated,  “I love the genre of Maira. It was not a complete heartbreak type; it was a sweet love song. I love the treatment of the song. The minute I heard this song, I liked it very much. So far, in my career, I had never played being in love and that was a huge thing for me to say yes to this song.” Further, Amaara on being quizzed if it was intimidating to work with Ajay Devgn,  explained, “No it was not at all intimidating. Being on board for a project like Rudra was amazing and as a performer, I had in mind to give my best. My reason to do it was not just the fact that the film had A-lister actors but it was also the fact that it was a remake of the huge show Luther, as I belong to London so I was aware that how big this hit BBC series was, so all this helped me to do my best.”

“I didn’t end up meeting Ajay sir, I did have a scene with him but then his schedule was so jam-packed that he had to leave and then we had to shoot it separately. Also, I was supposed to do a lot of prosthetic makeup for my character so I was not even allowed to go out of my vanity van. So, just knowing Ajay Devgan was on sets and performing so well sets the bar for you.  From second-hand information that I got about Ajay sir, it was very encouraging to know that even a successful actor like him works on his craft so well," she further said.

Amaara Sangam also shared that actress like Alia Bhatt is setting the bar for newcomers and is proving that Bollywood is now evolving.  She asserted, “Gangubai Kathiawadi is the last film that I have watched. Alia Bhatt is definitely on the top of her game right now. She had done a brilliant job in the film. An actress like her sets a bar for a lot of us and especially for newcomer female actresses who are making their way into the industry. Her performance has set the bar really high and makes you believe that Bollywood is evolving and that it is possible to carry a performance all on your shoulder. Alia’s performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi is on everyone’s top list and so does mine.”

Amaara Sangam, who is a trained actorpreneur and classical dancer, signed off saying that she has a lot on her plate and she will soon announce her forthcoming projects.
